While our KALs happen online, we wanted a place where everyone could hang out between updates, share what they're working on, and have those little conversations that naturally happen when you're sitting around knitting together.
That's why we created Stitches & Sips by Alpine Kneedles on Discord.
More Than Just Knit-Alongs
Our Discord community is where you can follow along with Alpine Kneedles KALs, but you don't have to be participating in a KAL to join.
It's a place for all the other things that make a cozy crafting night feel like a crafting night.
Working on a new sweater? Share your WIP.
Finally finished a project you've been working on forever? Show us!
Stuck on a pattern or trying to figure out what your instructions are actually asking you to do? Ask a question.
Found a yarn colour you can't stop thinking about? We probably want to see it too.
And because knitting and crochet rarely happen in complete silence, there's plenty of room to talk about what you're reading, watching, listening to, or drinking while you craft.
What Are You Reading?
Maybe you've got a horror novel sitting beside your project.

Maybe you've finally started that book everyone has been recommending for months.

What Are You Watching?
Crafting and watching something go hand-in-hand.
Whether you're watching a new series, rewatching an old favourite, catching up on movies, or putting on something in the background while you work through a particularly repetitive section of your project, it's always fun to hear what everyone else has on their screen.
What Are You Listening To?
Music, podcasts, audiobooks, playlists—you name it.
Sometimes a project needs a good soundtrack.
Share what you're listening to while you knit or crochet and you might just discover your next favourite podcast or album.
And What's in Your Cup?
That's where the Sips part comes in.
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, something cold, or whatever your current favourite drink happens to be—crafting somehow feels better when you've got something to sip along the way.
Share Your WIPs
One of my favourite parts of any knitting community is seeing projects in progress.
Not everything has to be finished and perfectly photographed before you can share it.
Show us the messy middle.
Share the colour combination you're unsure about. Show off the five rows you just finished. Tell us about the project that's been sitting in your project bag for six months.
WIPs are welcome here.
There's no pressure to finish quickly, and no competition over who can knit the fastest. We're just here to enjoy making things.
A Place to Ask Questions
Knitting and crochet don't always go according to plan.
Sometimes a pattern instruction makes absolutely no sense. Sometimes you need a second opinion on a colour choice. Sometimes you just need someone else to confirm that, yes, you really do need to rip back those rows.
Our Discord gives you a place to ask questions and get help from other members of the community.
And if you're participating in one of our KALs, it's also the easiest place to keep up with the project and chat with everyone else who's knitting along.
Come Hang Out With Us
You don't need to be an expert knitter. You don't need to be working on an Alpine Kneedles project. And you definitely don't need to have a perfectly curated craft room.
Just bring your current project, your WIP, your book, your show, your headphones, or your favourite drink.
