Our Pippa Baby Blanket KAL: A Cozy Knit-Along Project
After our first Alpine Kneedles knit-along, it was time to pick up our needles and start something new.
Our next KAL was the Pippa Baby Blanket by Snufflebean Yarn—a cozy, beginner-friendly project that was perfect for a slower-paced knit-along.
The pattern is available through Ravelry as either a free or paid option, making it an accessible project for anyone looking for their next baby blanket.

The Pippa Baby Blanket
The Pippa Baby Blanket is a lovely project for knitters who enjoy simple, relaxing patterns that allow the yarn and texture to shine.
For our KAL, everyone could choose their own colour and make the project their own while following along with the same pattern.
One of the things I enjoy about hosting KALs is that even when we're all working from the same pattern, everyone's finished project can end up looking completely different.
The Yarn: King Cole Cherished DK
For this KAL, I chose King Cole Yarns Cherished DK.
It's a soft, anti-pilling acrylic yarn that works beautifully for projects like baby blankets. It's also easy to care for, which is always a bonus when you're making something that's likely to get plenty of use.
For my own Pippa Blanket, I chose the colour Stonewash.
The soft, muted blue-grey colour felt like the perfect choice for a cozy blanket, and I loved watching the colour build across the project as I worked.
Knitting the Pippa Blanket Together
This KAL was another opportunity to take a project that could easily be a solo knitting experience and turn it into something a little more social.
We could share our progress, ask questions, compare our projects, and encourage each other along the way.
That's really what these KALs are about.
There isn't a race to finish first. You can knit a little every day, pick it up when you have time, or take a break and come back to it later. The idea is simply to have a project to work on alongside other knitters.
And of course, you can hang out with us on Stitches & Sips by Alpine Kneedles on Discord while you work.
Want to Knit Along With Us?
If you've been looking for an online knit-along or a way to connect with other knitters while working on your next project, keep an eye on the Alpine Kneedles KALs.
Each one gives us a new excuse to pick up our needles, try something new, and spend a little more time doing something we love.
You don't have to be local to join us, either. Our KALs are online, so you can knit along from wherever you are.
And if you want somewhere to share your progress, ask questions, or simply chat while you craft, come join us in Stitches & Sips on Discord.
Keep climbing, one stitch at a time!
